Audience Research - Audience Profile
'A primarily 16-25-year-old middle and up market audience of style conscious people.'
Age
- Teenage audiences (mainly female) have historically been shown to thoroughly enjoy the all-male band spectacle. For example: Weezer, Arctic Monkeys, The Vamps. For this reason, I aim aiming to target that demographic so will replicate the feel of the websites of that genre of band
- Age will be crucial in creating personas for the band members. For this reason, my video will appeal to all nostalgic for the early 2000s band feel but will mainly target teenage females, hoping to somewhat replicate the craze that young girls felt towards groups such as ‘The Beatles’ and ‘One Direction’
Class
- A middle market audience is broad, with its media targeting a general audience but often focusing on relatively affluent women
- On my website there will be a focus on tours and other live events, encouraging those in the up-market region to spend their money on tickets to see the group live as they will be secure enough financially to afford them
Interests
- Style conscious people will stay up to date with recent trends online, therefore online engagement will be a key part of the website, linking to other sites to encourage cross-platform engagement from the digital native
- In recent years fashion trends from the early 2000s such as the skater boy and goth aesthetic have made a return with people perceiving those who dress in such a way as stylish and trendy. Therefore, in my video I’ll be aiming to replicate the early 2000s style through general conventions in the video but also reflecting the warm feel of videos back then through details such as the outfits of the artists.
